Mattress Cleaning Sydney

We all love a good night’s sleep, but have you considered how healthy your sleeping environment is?  Have you ever thought about  the range of dust, skin, bodily fluids and mould that can make your mattress a haven for dust mites and other allergens?  Mattress cleaning Sydney is especially important where the humidity contributes to the problem.  Even when using a mattress protector, your mattress can suffer from these type of experiences.

A mattress often has a lifetime of approximately 10-15 years and manufacturers recommend cleaning every two years.  This will not only give you a healthier night’s sleep, but also extend the lifetime of your bed.  If you or your family suffer from asthma or any type of allergies, an annual mattress clean with your carpets and upholstery will go a long way to enhance your health.

The type of cleaning process you should expect from our trained and professional mattress cleaning Sydney Butler technicians is as follows:

  1. Vacuum: A thorough clean with a vacuum fitted with a HEPA filter to remove as much of the dust and allergens as possible. The HEPA filter traps a much smaller particle within its system, rather than recirculating back into the air.  Particular attention should be given to the seams and piping  where a lot of the bugs hide.
  2. Cleaning: Our solutions are designed not to over wet your mattress and give a thorough, hygienic clean.  Mattresses can often carry a lot of stains which in most cases we can remove, but not always.  It is important to be aware that the mattress will still be hygienically clean, even if some stains won’t budge.
  3. Drying: Butler Carpet Cleaning technicians use a commercial air mover to accelerate your mattress’ drying time.  When cleaned properly, you can expect your mattress to be dry within 4-8 hours.

Green Cleaning by Butler Carpet Cleaning Sydney

Butler Carpet Cleaning Sydney – Green Cleaning Focus

Written by Omar Hamwi, Inner West Courier.

An Inner West carpet cleaning company is helping drive the sustainability bandwagon and it is a trend which looks likely to grow.

Butler Carpet Cleaning, based at Drummoyne and servicing the whole Sydney basin, says it uses the “green” approach to cleaning.

Company Director Mark Langrell said: “Traditionally carpet cleaners use equipment that requires high usage of fossil fuel which creates high levels of noise intrusion, toxic waste water and air pollution through exhaust emissions. Our new green cleaning system creates no waste, is whisper quiet (54dB), no air pollution and negligible power usage.”

Any home cleaning buff can keep their homes clean with average household items, Mr.Langrell said. He recommended white vinegar in a neutral detergent – used in moderation – to clean effectively without the environmental effects of supermarket products.

The company won industry accolade National Sustainable Carpet Cleaning Company last year.

Water Damage Sydney

With weather like we have had this year, many of you have suffered a leaking roof, window, or pipe (and sometimes washing machine!).  Water damage to carpet is a common problem we at Butler Carpet Cleaning receive calls about, so here are a few tips to help reduce the damage:

  1. When carpet has been saturated by water damage, it is important to extract as much of the water as quickly as possible. There are a couple of reasons why this is crucial.
Firstly, when wet, the jute backing on most carpet can start a brown staining effect which, if left damp can cause permanent damage to your carpet.  Sometimes this appears like ‘tide” marks (like an ocean’s tide going out with ripples) or it could appear as a discoloured area.  It is possible for this to be treated, but it doesn’t always work to restore your carpet to the original condition. For this reason you want to act quickly.
Secondly, when the underlay is effected by the water damage, it can start to smell.  The longer your carpets are wet, the more chance this will happen.  If it is damp for a prolonged period of time, the odour can be extreme and difficult to rectify, so prevention is much better than cure.
  2. 2. Once the extraction has been done, it is important to get the carpet and underlay as dry as possible. If it is summer, you might have the benefit of good airflow to speed things along, but at other times it is best to get air moving equipment in to minimise the damage. Butlers can assist by hiring a drier to achieve your goal here. Alternatively you can try to set up all your fans in the house and move that air.
  3. Once dry, your carpets have residue dirty water left behind so the last step is to have this residue removed with a professional and accredited carpet cleaning company such as Butler Capet Cleaning.  This is the only way to restore the area to hygienically clean.

Water damage to your precious carpets can be an ordeal you wish you never had to deal with, but if you follow these three steps, extract, dry and clean, you will never know about the nightmare you experienced.  Butler Carpet Cleaning can assist with all these steps  and give you beautifully clean carpet again.
